About me.
Whew! Where to start? Fiction is easy, but talking about myself? Not so much.
I was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. I grew up in the Iron City/Saint Joseph area. There really weren’t any other kids in my neighborhood, and I certainly didn’t want to spend any more time with my two younger sisters than I had to. I was excited to learn to read, and always loved reading. I attended school at South Lawrence Elementary, and the librarians there encouraged my reading. They would often see that I had already completed the available books at my grade level and would let me read books for the older children as well. I remember one time I checked out a book of Irish ghost tales. I don’t remember how old I was, but I was pretty young. Too young to be reading that book, that’s for certain. My parents were furious the next day. They didn’t know that I had read the book until I woke them in the middle of the night, screaming because I thought the banshee was going to get me.
As a teenager, I began considering options for a career. Writing never crossed my mind. I was determined to be a nurse, and my mind was made up. I went to work during the summer as a nurse assistant at a local nursing home. It helped solidify my decision, and I thought I had my career all planned out. It wasn’t. I took a first responder course in high school, and decided that emergency medicine was what I wanted to do. I attended the EMT

program at Columbia State Community College, and worked as an EMT for twelve years before going back to school at Northwest Shoals Community College to get my paramedic certification. I’ve been a paramedic now for twelve years, and I have my Critical Care Transport certification.
I started writing in 2021, partly because it seemed like a challenge to me and partly because COVID had me bored out of my mind on my days off. As it turns out, I enjoy writing. I have several other hobbies, including rock and gem cutting. I even have YouTube and Tiktok videos about it. I hope that you enjoy reading my work, and I want to thank you for taking the time to read about me.
